About the Roundtable

What we do

The community services sector is diverse, but our fundamental role is simple: We help people when they need it.
Our partners - large and small, non-profit and private, in big cities and small communities - provide all kinds of caring, skilled support.
We work with children and families in crisis, help people find jobs, counsel families dealing with addiction, work with moms and dads to be the best parents possible and help seniors stay in their homes.
We work with some hundreds of thousands of people every year, helping them deal with life’s tough problems. We build stronger families, communities and a better B.C.
Some 64,000 people work in the sector, supported by thousands of volunteers.
There’s a clear economic benefit to the work we do. Providing home-care services for a senior costs far less than providing residential care. Helping young parents build better parenting skills changes the lives of their children, and prevents decades of future expenses.
And we believe it’s simply right to help and support people when they need it. We can change their lives, strengthen families and communities and give every British Columbian the chance to contribute to a better future.
